The annual gorge-fest that is Thanksgiving has me thinking about odd eating habits, particularly those of co-workers. I have a co-worker whose lunch every day consists of Oscar Meyer bologna wrapped around Kraft string cheese sticks. This guy is a 75 year old senior attorney who appears to be in excellent shape, so something must be working for him.
Anyone else with odd co-worker eating habits?

sounds like he grew up in the ‘50s.
the 1950s in America was the hey-day of packaged, processed foods.

I work in a restaurant, so I see a WTF variety of non-menu staff meals.

2 pastries left in the box, eats some of each then offers what’s left to someone else.
Call him on it and tell him that’s not how it works. His response, “It’s okay I tore them with my hands”.

I did a stint at a Coney Island in high school, I’ve forgotten some of the abominations we came up with for ourselves.

My nephew has the worst diet I’ve ever seen, I don’t know what he weighs but I’d guess in excess of 130 pounds. He snacks on doritos and Soda all day,and thinks mcdees is an acceptable meal.

That doesn’t sound
that
odd to me. Would be better as an insert into biscuit dough a la pigs-in-a-blanket, though. Melty cheese, hot bologna.

Yeah, the guy that used to have the cubicle across from mine stacked up all his microwavable meal boxes used trays and all for weeks before throwing them away. It was disgusting! He also routinely dozed off and knocked over a pile of cans.

I’ve had several strange coworkers. One fellow ate one peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch every day. No chips, no extras, just one sandwich. Another would eat two bags of microwave popcorn for lunch. This made the entire wing of the building smell like popcorn every day. I like popcorn, but come on!

You should really go on a ‘franks and beans’ tirade.

There are 2 things that shall not be heated in the office microwave:
1 - fish
2 - popcorn (unless you’re making enough to share with everyone)

Just a noisy coworker that shares too many lip-smacking mouth noises as he snacks at his desk. It’s gross.

A former coworker would occasionally microwave fish. After the first time we made him cart the microwave out of the break room to heat the fish, then clean it before bringing it back in.

I have 2. 1st guy would bring a loaf of bread and a jar of mayonnaise, every damn day. I couldn’t be anywhere near him. 2nd guy had a tin of sardines, every damn day. I never once watched either of those weirdos eat

I admit that I am guilty of this. When I lived and worked in DC, there was a lunch place downtown called BreadLine, that made an awesome seafood stew. I brought it into work one day and reheated in the microwave. I immediately regretted that decision, as you could smell fish throughout our small (8 person) office. My boss gave me quite a bit of grief and, tongue in cheek, would check my lunch bag every day for the next month or so: “Ok. Just making sure no fish. You’re clear.”
